The Reverend Doctor Christy Lohr Sapp was back in the pulpit at Lutheran Church of Redeemer today, for which we are grateful.

We are also grateful for our time with Seamus, the kitten we rescued earlier in the week, who sadly passed away last night. It was not unexpected, so we are glad that we could provide some comfort and love in those past several days.

On Thursday we went to Riley and Sadie’s new school for a quick introduction and tour.

Near their school was this image of Menachem Mendel Schneerson, an Orthodox rabbi and influential leader of the Chabad-Lubavitcher movement. His image can be found in various forms around Jerusalem — from stickers to stencils, modern art to this unmissable cutout.

After visiting the school we popped into the Mahane Yehuda Market (aka “The Shuk”), an expansive marketplace where you’ll find lots of shops, stalls, bars and restaurants. It being Friday, and with Shabbat starting in the early evening, The Shuk was bursting with activity. You can see Riley, Christy and Sadie in the foreground.
